A day in Acacias wouldn’t be complete without a hike, a snake spotting, at least one new food, and a strange encounter.
Although Acacías is a beautiful little town, staying in one place for too long leaves you itching to explore, which is why I took the chance to head to Bogota for the weekend.

I’ve been in Acacias for one day so far, and it feels like its been weeks. My schedule has been so busy, I’ve barely had time to think about what to do.
Through Rustic Pathways, I flew into the Dominican Republic and started my journey. The first several days of the trip we worked and learned about the bateyes, which are Haitian immigrant communities.
You never really expect these things to happen to you, but when they do, it’s almost unbelievable. I was struck with surprise when I found out that I won a trip to New York City for New York Comedy Festival.
Every other year or so we travel to Germany to visit my mom’s side of the family, and I absolutely love it. It’s like my second home, and my only wish is to stay there longer.
